For its new partnership with Virgin Voyages, Starboard created a retail assortment of purpose-driven brands, designer luxe collections and destination pop-ups.
Resilient Lady's May 14 inaugural voyage
The (Virgin) red carpet will be rolled out for Starboard’s retail offerings during Resilient Lady’s inaugural voyage from Piraeus May 14. At the High Street Shops on Deck 6, sustainability meets elevated luxury with range of products including LVMH-exclusive brands, while destination pop-ups on Deck 7 will related to the ports visited, as well as Virgin Voyages’ entertainment events with rotating giftable assortments.
The brand continues its partnership with Yellow Leaf Hammocks, a staple in Virgin's balcony cabins with an origin story rooted in sustainability and a mission to transform communities.
LVMH lineup
Resilient Lady’s LVMH lineup includes the stand-alone Bvlgari boutique offering jewelry, watches, handbags and accessories, Marc Jacobs with classic totes and crossbody bags and Stella McCartney with high-end fashion pieces made from vegan materials. The Swiss Shop will feature timepiece brands such as Tag Heuer and Hublot, while Dior perfumes offer classic fragrances.
Lab-grown Engrace Diamonds and handcrafted jewelry from John Hardy offer gender-inclusive designs. Vintage, pre-owned luxury accessories and leather goods will be available from What Goes Around Comes Around.
The expanded apparel collections will feature Summersalt, size-inclusive swimwear made with earth-friendly practices; Stitch Note, elevated printed linen made from sustainable materials; and Loci vegan sneakers. T-shirts, fans and accessories will be available through Virgin Voyages’ branded Pride capsule.
The beauty shop will feature cruelty-free lines such as UK brand Iconic London, and Juice Beauty, vegan skincare and beauty items made with organic ingredients.
Additionally, travelers can select clean beauty brands such as Beekman Clinically Kind.
'Together, we’ve curated a thoughtful collection of upscale, inclusive and sustainable products that seamlessly align with Virgin Voyages’ Lady Ships,' Starboard President/CEO Lisa Bauer said.
Ocean debuts
Resilient Lady will be the first ship to introduce Mono B, an athleisure gender-inclusive brand made from premium fibers and quality performance fabrics with sizes from XS to 3XL.
Citizen’s first standalone boutique at sea will display all sustainable products reflecting Virgin's call to action of preventing one million watch batteries from going to landfills by 2024. Citizen pioneered the Eco-Drive watch in 1976, enabling watches to be powered by any light source, eliminating the need to replace batteries.
Sailors can experience Starboard’s elevated onboard shopping aboard Valiant Lady now, Resilient Lady later this month and Scarlet Lady in August. Coming up next will be Brilliant Lady, making its maiden voyage in the Caribbean later this year.
Scenic Eclipse and Emerald yachts
At Scenic Group, thanks to a partnership with Starboard Luxury, there's a new international retail offering anchored in destinations for the discovery and luxury yachts.
'We are delighted to partner with Starboard Luxury as our onboard retail provider, who will provide our guests with the opportunity to purchase quality, specially crafted items throughout their journey,' said Damien Thomas, group COO, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours.
Curated selection for polar or warm water voyages
The shipboard boutiques will offer a curated assortment of items and gifts. For polar voyages on the Scenic Eclipse discovery yachts, offerings will include expedition gear (all-weather performance binoculars and waterproof attire) and skin care formulated to protect against the elements.
Warm water voyages in the Caribbean, Red Sea and Mediterranean on both the Emerald Cruises yachts and Scenic Eclipse I and II will introduce new collections of local artisanal items in addition to vintage pieces, fine jewelry and gifts locally sourced.
'Whether that’s a one-of-a-kind jewelry piece made from the region’s unique gems, or an adorable plush penguin toy the grandkids will cherish, we seek out opportunities to surprise and delight guests,' said Stacy Shaw, VP of Starboard Luxury.
The new retail debuted in April aboard Emerald Azzurra and Scenic Eclipse II and on Scenic Eclipse I May 3 and will appear for Emerald Sakara's debut Aug. 5.
