'We want our passengers to find a recognizable signature scent on board all our ships and also in our boutique, which will open soon in Paris. We also want them to be able to take with them a reminder of their cruise and, once back home, remember an ambience, a feeling, a special moment,' commented deputy managing director Veronique Albertini-Saadé, who is in charge of this project.

The scent was selected by French perfumier Fragonard, based in Grasse, in the south of France, since 1926. 'They have already worked with our company and know the "Ponant spirit' as well as our values,' she added. The fragrance is citrus-based with mixes of rose, jasmin, lilac, lily of the valley, musks and amber notes.

L’Eau du Ponant room fragrance will be sold exclusively on board the Ponant ships and costs €39.
