The two Princess Cruises ships, operating out of Southampton, will show live coverage of ‘The Coronation Service at Westminster’ and ‘The Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle’ on May 6, on the 300 sq ft ‘Movies Under the Stars’ jumbotron and ‘The Biggest Street Party’ will be replicated on top deck.

A ‘Royal Afternoon Tea’ will also be served on board both vessels, complete with British favourites such as Victoria sponge cake. Pimms and strawberries will be served on the top deck and traditional British fare such as fish and chips, sausage rolls, and trifle will be available in World Fresh Marketplace.

Guest speaker from British Royal Household

Talks from guest speaker Grant Harrold, former butler of the king, will take place onboard Regal Princess between May 3 and 5, and on Sky Princess between May 6 and 13. Harrold is a former British Royal Household member and a leading etiquette expert, royal commentator and broadcaster.

In addition, the Piazza on board both ships will be decorated for the occasion using banners and buntings in the royal colours and passengers will be encouraged to wear the royal red, white and blue for a special dress up night.

Holyhead, Wales

Regal Princess will call at Holyhead in Wales on May 6 as part of the ship’s itinerary around the British Isles, meaning passengers will have the chance to experience the historical moment in a part of the UK that has strong ties with the king.

Royal Variety Show

On Sky Princess an array of coronation-themed entertainment will take place, including a special ‘Royal Variety Show’– featuring a tribute to Elton John – performed in the Princess Theatre, as well as ‘Royal Trivia’ in Princess Live!.
