'We regret to announce that Princess is unable to accept delivery of the Rollglider, Coastal Climb and Ropes Course features within Park19 aboard Sun Princess and those experiences will not be opening,' the line said in a statement Friday. 'We are actively evaluating these areas for future recreational opportunities to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests.'
Rollglider would have been new at sea
What would have been a first at sea, the Rollglider, dubbed SeaBreeze, was promoted as an overhead track enabling seated and harnessed riders to reach speeds up to 11 mph during a 60- to 90-second experience.
Coastal Climb was described as a climbing structure where participants could ascend from Decks 19 to 20 through a series of obstacles. Once at the top, they would be able to take in the views before sliding down to the bottom.
Other options are available
Princess said Park19 continues to offer a variety of 'fun and safe recreational options' including Infinite Horizon, where leaning tilt walls cantilever over the side of the ship, allowing users to peer out from Deck 19 down to Deck 9 and beyond.
The hammock area is also available, along with Splash Zone, an area with pop jets and a water sculpture, and Recreational Court, a multifunctional area with games including cornhole, ping pong and shuffleboard. Plus, there's an open-air jogging track.
