The incumbent supplier has additionally been re-awarded contracts for Marella Explorer and Marella Explorer 2.

‘We are delighted to be renewing our partnership with ted as the entertainment provider onboard our Explorer ships and extending this to our newest ship to the fleet, [Marella] Voyager,’ said Anna Lewis-Laverty, general manager of customer experience for Marella Cruises.

Partnership between the two brands began in 2017 with the launch of the entertainment programme onboard the Explorer ships. Ted has held exclusive contracts for entertainment onboard Marella Discovery and Marella Discovery 2 since October 2020. The new agreements mean ted will supply bespoke entertainment to the line’s full fleet.

A growing partner for Marella

‘The Experience Department (ted) is proud to be strengthening and expanding its relationship with Marella Cruises,’ said Robin Breese-Davies, CEO, ted.

‘Our shows have created an amazing reputation thanks to our incredible talent, sophisticated technology and AV, and our support teams… We have a wealth of experience in the cruise industry, and we’re excited to be a growing partner for Marella Cruises at such an exciting time for the business as they expand their fleet, and we are looking forward to producing specially curated shows, content and activities for the ships.’

The proposed programme will include immersive, actor-led experiences, fresh arts and crafts classes, new themed deck parties, eight brand-new theatre shows and more.

Added Lewis-Laverty, ‘Providing our customers excellent entertainment with plenty of variety is so important to us. We know that customers are going to love the offering and we’re very much looking forward to working together.’
