Applications are still being accepted until Sept. 15. A Costa committee in Genoa will choose the godmother and four attendants by Oct. 15.

Any travel agent who is a Costa partner—including owners, directors or sales staff of a travel agency—may apply at www.madrinadellaregina.it by inserting their Costa agency code and following the instructions to complete the application form, available in Italian, French, German, English and Spanish.

Candidates are asked to upload their photo and answer three simple questions.

Costa seeks a godmother and attendants who are passionate about their job, outgoing, spontaneous and convey a positive attitude.

During festivities in Costa Diadema's Emerald Theatre the night of Nov. 7, the Madrina della Regina will be seated near the captain and cut the ribbon sending a champagne bottle smashing against the bow. The godmother will also be the guest of honor at the gala naming ceremony dinner on board.
