BA described AI is a collaborative tool that requires greater and earlier interaction between the architects, engineers and planners with the client. So in order to facilitate this interaction, the Miami-based firm developed this tool to encourage clients to begin to use it.

Free to BA clients in this test phase

The service, in its test phase, will be free of charge to BA’s clients and will allow them to quickly develop graphic renderings and visions for proposed projects working with the BA design team using Ai.

BA called it a 'fantastic tool that will transform the planning process with better ways to communicate and plan the future in a totally interactive way.'

According to BA, AI is shaping the future of design and development.

Opportunity to explore

'BA is at the forefront of this transformation,' said Luis Ajamil, president/CEO. 'We developed this client vision portal to allow thousands of ports and maritime industry clients the opportunity to explore this transformative technology and be inspired by the possibilities.'

Generative AI enables BA to explore a wide range of design possibilities, from innovative destination and waterfront development to cruise facilities. In minutes the AI Vision Portal can generate realistic renderings based on various parameters and constraints. BA's dedicated in-house team is focused on implementing generative AI into its process, from concept to completion.

In the maritime industry AI has been applied to port operations, shipping and logistics, safety and security, as well as communication and navigation.

A first?

BA said it may be the first architecture, planning and engineering firm to offer such a portal for clients to use as an advance visioning tool to produce real-life perspectives and alternatives.

This is only the beginning, according to BA. The visioning tool joins the existing simulation software the firm has been using for years and, in the very near future, new AI tools for optimization and production will be introduced.
