Brindisi Cruise Terminal inaugurated

The project was developed by the Autorità Portuale di Brindisi, responsible for marketing the port to the cruise sector and infrastructure development.

‘The aim is to make Brindisi an international maritime centre in southern Italy as well as strengthen the overall competitveness of the Apulian ports,' informs port president, Professor Hercules Haralambides.

Attracting turnaround calls is an objective and the nearby Papola Casale airport offers several internal flights to key Italian cities as well as the UK, Brussels and Zurich.

The port authority is in discussions with a consortium comprising Venezia Terminal Passeggeri, Royal Caribbean, Marinvest and Bassani regarding a concession to manage cruise operations which is coming close to finalisation, confirmed Haralambides.

The MSC Cruises’ vessel will call in Brindisi 34 times this year in addition to 25 stops by other cruise ships.
