Brand new features emerging from the partnership include integration of Cruise Critic and My Kind of Cruise accounts, curated professional reviews, 50m+ cruiser reviews, opinions, and photos plus a cruise review collection.

My Kind of Cruise

Established in May 2020 and launched in May 2022, the My Kind of Cruise app has been downloaded over 100,000 times so far, with more than half of those downloads (53%) from travellers who have never cruised before.

Available to UK residents via the App Store and on Google Play, it allows users to compare options and pricing across cruise ships, lines and sailings, removing the need for booking by telephone.

Sefton Monk, co-founder of My Kind of Cruise, said, ‘These days you wouldn’t dream of ordering a pizza over the phone, but 10 years ago that was the norm. Our research has shown that currently around 90% of cruises are booked via telephone.

‘There’s an app for everything and, based on what we’ve seen first-hand, we know cruise booking can be the same. This time next year, I believe we’ll be saying we cannot believe we didn’t have an app for this.’

‘Enormous need’ for a new mobile experience

Mark Patscher, senior director of sales for Cruise Critic, said, ‘There’s an enormous need for a mobile experience that addresses the intricacies of shopping for a cruise – from breaking down pricing and helping travellers find the greatest cruise value, to incorporating all of their travel preferences to find their ideal cruise.

‘We’re looking forward to working more closely with My Kind of Cruise to ensure we’re able to deliver the confidence needed to support travellers through the entire journey.’
