Taking place September 14 at 12:30-1:45 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Málaga Trade Fairs and Congress Centre, and facilitated by Luis de Carvalho, CEO, Bermello Ajamil & Partners Europe, the session will be kickstarted by Martyn Griffiths, director public affairs, CLIA who will provide a legislative update.

Following on Linden Coppell, VP sustainability and ESG, MSC Cruises; Heino Nau, coordinator - International Blue Economy, European Commission; Barbara Scheel Agersnap, CEO, Copenhagen Malmö Port; and Stephen Xuereb, COO, Global Ports Holding will set out to debate different perspectives as the cruise industry moves forwards towards a net-zero carbon future.

European Green Deal

Subjects to be covered include what the European Green Deal means for the industry and what to expect of requirements in coming years; the practicalities of the current regulatory landscape for greenhouse gas emissions, examining the challenges and opportunities that this transition will bring to the cruise industry and how ports and destinations can be ready to support this shift in the future, by putting infrastructure in place now.

Demystifying Fit for 55

According to de Carvalho, 'The panelists and I are looking forward to this session as we attempt to demystify some of the key areas surrounding the practicalities of current regulatory landscape and hear expert opinions on some of the challenges and opportunities that this transition will bring to the cruise industry.’

All cruise line executives, VIPs and full conference pass holders can attend this session; a Quickstart Guide to Fit for 55 and what it might mean for EU cruise ports can be download if you are already registered.
