Passengers disembarked in Sydney from a Ruby Princess cruise in March 2020 unaware of COVID-19 cases onboard
The class action trial on behalf of passengers aboard Princess Cruises’ Ruby Princess in March 2020 is scheduled to commence in the Federal Court of Australia on Wednesday.

As reported here, mediation between Carnival Corp. & plc and Shine Lawyers last December was unsuccessful, sending the matter to trial this month.

The complaint

It is understood the lawyers will allege that the COVID-19 outbreak onboard the ship, which docked in Sydney on March 19 two years ago in the early stages of the pandemic, resulted from a failure to take appropriate measures to ensure passengers were safe and protected from contracting the virus.
