Cruise industry veteran to head sales for CMV in Australasia

Darren Chigwidden will take up his appointment as national sales manager Australia and New Zealand for Cruise & Maritime Voyages Australia on January 29.

Travel agent support

Based at the company’s regional head office in Adelaide, Chigwidden will provide ongoing support for the company’s travel agent partners. He will also work closely with wholesalers.

He has extensive cruise industry experience with Royal Caribbean, Princess, P&O Cruises Australia and Cunard.

He has worked for the South Australian Tourism Commission and most recently led the sales teams in South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory for the Globus Family of Brands, which includes Avalon Waterways.

A ‘valuable asset’

Chigwidden was described as ‘a very valuable asset to our team’ by md Dean Brazier.

‘We’re thrilled to bring Darren on board to work alongside our fantastic community of travel agents and to help them develop their businesses,’ Brazier said.

She has been the Australasia correspondent for Seatrade Cruise Review since 1997 and for Seatrade Insider (now Seatrade Cruise News) since its launch in 2000.
