Holland America touts 'best deal of the year' for 2023 cruises

Holland America Line's new 'Book Early & Save' promotion includes gratuities, onboard credit, 50% reduced deposit and a low-fare guarantee.

The offer promises 'great cruise fares' and 'value of more than $900 per person' for a seven-day sailing.

Applies to 2022 holiday cruises and 2023 sailings

'Book Early & Save' runs from July 12 through Sept. 30 and applies to 2022 holiday cruises and 2023 sailings.

Travelers can explore Alaska, Antarctica, Asia, Australia/New Zealand, the Caribbean, Canada/New England, the Mediterranean, Hawaii, Mexico, Northern Europe the Panama Canal and South America. Alaska cuise-tours, which combine cruise with an overland trip to Denali and the Yukon, are also eligible.

Fares start at $899 per person, double occupancy, for Caribbean cruises. Popular summer cruises to Alaska begin at $949 per person and for Europe at $1,399. Taxes, fees and port expenses are additional. 'Book Early & Save' is not applicable to grand voyages or cruises of five or fewer days.

Longer voyages beginning and ending at US ports are eligible, such as the 35-day 'Voyage of the Vikings' round-trip Boston, the 35-day 'Hawaii, Tahiti and Marquesas' round-trip San Diego and a 21-day 'Caribbean Collectors' Voyage' round-trip Fort Lauderdale.

'Book Early & Save' benefits

If a traveler finds a lower fare for the identical booking within 72 hours of the original booking, Holland America will give the customer an onboard credit valued at 110% of the difference between the original fare and the lower fare. 

Prepaid stateroom gratuities cover the first and second guests in a stateroom.

Depending on cruise duration, travelers get onboard credit of $100, $150 or $300 per stateroom.

'Have It All' premium package

Travelers who opt for the 'Have It All' premium package also get shore excursions, beverages, specialty dining and Wi-Fi included in the fare.
