Seabourn president Rick Meadows considers Austin 'a perfect fit' to lead global sales and marketing as the line expands its fleet.

'He is passionate about people, which is vital from a guest and trade relations standpoint. Moreover, his significant experience in the luxury travel category will help us further expand our leadership position in the ultra-luxury travel segment,' Meadows said.

Austin spent the past 30 years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, most recently serving as vp global leisure, luxury & total market coverage sales. In addition to his executive roles there, he held a number of property-based positions in food and beverage, banqueting and catering, and sales.

Austin starts at Seabourn in January and will relocate from Miami to Seattle.

He fills a position previously held by John Delaney, who left to become president of Windstar Cruises in July.
