Sailing with AmaWaterways on vessels that were designed with families in mind, Adventures by Disney seven-night river cruises provide a way to explore Europe that is active, immersive and easy.
On Rhine cruises visiting France, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands, travelers can ride a toboggan and hike in the Black Forest, explore the storybook Heidelberg Castle and sample wine in a medieval basement wine cave.
During six departures travelers will get to see the villages and culture that inspired the 'Beauty and the Beast' films and can savor special elements like a 'Beauty and the Beast' themed dinner and other culinary experiences inspired by the film. Families can see both the live action and animated versions of the film on board, then become part of the story as they tour Riquewihr, an idyllic French village that's as picturesque as Belle’s hometown from the movie.
Adventures by Disney will also double the number of food and wine themed sailings along the Rhine in 2018, offering two epicurean sailings during the fall. Hosted by renowned chefs and sommeliers, these adults-only cruises will provide extraordinary food and beverage experiences on and off the vessel. Highlights include wine tasting, gourmet demonstrations and workshops, culinary walking tours, a French patisserie class, local beer and wine pairings, and craft cocktail blending seminars.
These cruises were inspired by popular food and beverage offerings throughout Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, such as the fan-favorite Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival.
Also in 2018, Adventures by Disney will offer six departures of its Danube river cruises. In addition to bringing back another season of summertime and themed holiday sailings, there will be a new adult-exclusive Oktoberfest sailing in September that visits Germany during the annual festival and provides themed parties and culinary treats on board and ashore.
These cruises also visit Austria, Slovakia and Hungary, and travelers can have experiences like reliving scenes from 'The Sound of Music' in Salzburg, exploring Devin Castle in Bratislava and taking an Austrian folk dancing lesson in Melk.
Families can customize their trip by choosing from activity options on board and ashore. Adventures by Disney also worked with AmaWaterways to reimagine shipboard spaces and activities, offering programming for kids, teens and adults.
