AmaWaterways chalks up a record booking month
2016 has been rife with reports about soft sales in the European river cruise sector but AmaWaterways just chalked up its strongest month ever for cruise bookings.

'We couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that our company has completed its most successful month for future bookings in our 14-year history,' said Kristin Karst, evp and co-owner of AmaWaterways.

This year the line introduced AmaStella and AmaViola, featuring connecting staterooms that cater to the group and multigenerational family markets.

AmaWaterways also continues to introduce new itineraries and has expanded its partnerships with Adventures by Disney and Backroads. In the case of Disney, the companies have worked together to deliver tailored excursions and activities for families. And with active travel specialist Backroads, AmaWaterways is offering programs for solo travelers, couples and famlies who like to bike, walk and hike.

As a result, AmaWaterways has been successful in attracting new demographics to river cruising and continues to see greater numbers of younger travelers aboard its vessels.

'We are confident in the state of river cruising, and the record number of future bookings solidifies our belief that 2017 will be a year of restoration for the river cruise industry,' said Rudi Schreiner, president and co-owner of AmaWaterways.

'River cruising is a highly desirable method of luxurious and experiential travel and we take great pride in delivering world-class accommodations and excursions for our guests,' he added.
