American Cruise Lines raised $14,000 for the Connecticut Food Bank with its Holiday Give-Back Program.

The Guilford, Connecticut-based company donated $50 for each ticket sold on select holiday cruises, which included seven-night voyages on Queen of the Mississippi, Independence and American Glory.

'There is nothing as rewarding as giving back to the local community and helping those in need,' said Susan Shultz, director of sales.

Connecticut Food Bank ceo Bernie Beaudreau thanked American Cruise Lines and said the donation provided food for 28,000 meals.

American Cruise Lines began the Holiday Give-Back Program in 2013.
