The fire in one of the boat's generators occurred while American Empress was in The Dalles, Oregon.
Passengers remained on board and went on excursions today.
The American Queen Steamboat Co. said it is working closely with the Coast Guard to survey the situation.
John Waggoner, AQSC chairman, commended the crew for their actions and said 'procedures were followed in an incredibly smooth, timely fashion, putting our guests at ease.'
American Empress remains in The Dalles for now. AQSC said the boat will operate its next cruise as scheduled, embarking Nov. 13.
