Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami see Michael continuing across the eastern Gulf of Mexico through Tuesday night before moving inland over the Florida Panhandle or Big Bend area on Wednesday, and then northeastward across the southeastern US Wednesday night and Thursday.
Changes are mainly to the order of port calls
Carnival Triumph, which departed New Orleans yesterday on a five-day Caribbean cruise, will reverse its port calls, stopping on Wednesday at Progreso and Thursday in Cozumel.
Carnival Glory, currently on a seven-day Caribbean sailing that left Miami on Saturday, canceled its call in Grand Cayman yesterday.
Carnival Freedom, which departed Saturday from Galveston on a seven-day Caribbean cruise, skipped Mahogany Bay Monday. The ship will call at Cozumel today and Belize on Wednesday.
Carnival Victory, which departed Monday from Miami on a four-day cruise, is reversing its order of port calls, spending a day at sea today and visiting Key West on Thursday. Wednesday's stop in Cozumel remains unchanged.
Carnival Miracle, which departed from Tampa on Sunday for a seven-day Caribbean cruise, is dropping today's call at Cozumel.
Carnival Paradise, currently on a five-day cruise that departed Tampa on Saturday, is reversing its scheduled port calls, calling at Cozumel tomorrow and Grand Cayman on Wednesday.
Miami-based Norwegian Getaway is visiting Falmouth (Jamaica) today and Grand Cayman on Wednesday, instead of Roatán and Harvest Caye (Belize), respectively. Otherwise, the itinerary is unchanged.
Hurricane Sergio in the Pacific
In the Pacific, Carnival Splendor's itinerary was altered to avoid bad weather from Hurricane Sergio. The ship is calling today at Puerto Vallarta, instead of Mazatlán, and will visit Ensenada Oct. 12. Sergio is projected to reach the coast of Baja California late Thursday/early Friday.
