Collectively, Cunard, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, AIDA Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines and Costa Crociere will schedule 127 ships calls in Livorno in 2015.
The agreement was signed by Giora Israel, svp global port and destination development for Carnival Corp and Roberto Piccini, president and ceo of Porto di Livorno 2000. Livorno Port Authority, represented by secertary general Massimo Provinciali was also present.
Michel Nestour, Carnival’s vp of global port and destination Euromed, who handled the negotiation, said: ‘I wish to thank Porto di Livorno 2000 and the Livorno Port Authority for all their hard work and willingness to find solutions and move forward over the last year. We trust that with this agreement in place we will continue to improve the quality of the services to our passengers.’
Piccini, added, ‘the berthing guarantee at Alto Fondale Terminal and the work still in progress, together with the commercial consideration, were fundamental instruments to successfully completing this initiative.’
