Norwegian Capricorn Line’s Norwegian Star sailed from Port Arthur to Sydney for the first Masters Conference in 1999. Another was held that year aboard Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas.
Sales guru
An annual conference has been held ever since and every year the programme is run by US-based sales guru and motivator Scott Koepf.
Agents who have achieved Ambassador status and are employed by a CLIA member travel agency are eligible to attend the conference and become a Master cruise specialist.
There are six three-hour sessions, giving agents ample leisure time to enjoy the ship and ports of call.
CLIA Australasia and Asia MD Joel Katz said the conference is aimed at all levels of travel agent members, from consultants to owners and managers.
Practical insight and motivation
‘The content is designed to give participants practical insight and motivation that will help them remain at the top of their game,’ Katz said.
Fees start at A$1,595 for twin-share accommodation in an ocean-view cabin. Any airfares, hotels, transfers and on-board expenses such as drinks, spa treatments and shore excursions are additional. Partner rates are also available.
