Concordia is back at sea

Concordia convoy is underway

At 11 a.m. Wednesday the Concordia wreck began moving from Giglio, under tow by a pair of tugboats. The convoy is proceeding at a speed of about two knots.

The arrival in Genoa is expected between Saturday and Sunday.

The remote operations team for the convoy consists of nine people led by senior salvage master Nick Sloane. The team will work in two shifts.

The rest of the team numbers 47 technicians including 10 divers plus strandjack operators and salvors. In addition, four marine biologists and four marine mammal observers are on hand.
