The circumnavigation, Costa’s first for 17 years, will visit 40 destinations and 18 countries in five continents.
Deliziosa will call in Brazil, Argentina, Tierra del Fuego, Cape Horn, Chile, Easter Island, Polynesia, New Zealand, Australia, Mozambique, South Africa and Namibia.
Two webcams installed on board the ship will relay coverage of the voyage.
The majority of the guests will be French, Italian and German, along with numerous Spanish, reports Costa.
On September 14,2015 Costa Luminosa, will also undertake a round-the-world voyage lasting 98 days and finishing on December 21, 2015. Place visited will be France, Spain, Caribbean, Mexico, US, New Zealand, Australia, China, India and UAE.
To celebrate Costa Deliziosa's departure, Savona’s Palacrociere cruise terminals are decorated with yellow and blue balloons, together with historic images of past circumnavigations. A brass band will perform during the embarkation. In Marseille and Barcelona, the two ports of call following Savona, dedicated events will take place with live music and sail away parties.
Various international artists will be performing live during the segments of the crossing from acrobats to a flamenco show; from Beatles tribute band to tango groups; from ventriloquists to folk shows.
Looking ahead, Costa Cruises is planning a 108 day round-the-world voyage from Savona on Costa Luminosa from January 6 to April 23, 2016.
