The Lost Mayan Kingdom water park, Costa Maya's major new attraction, is weeks away from its grand opening, according to Robert Shamosh, vp marketing and sales.

The Lost Mayan Kingdom has an adventure/discovery story line that transports visitors through a jungle dotted with the remnants of Mayan civilization where there's also evidence of an archaeological expedition circa 1934.

The centerpiece of the vast park is a towering pyramid with multiple water slides. A lazy river float adventure winds through lush terrain, across lagoons into tunnels and past Mayan ruins.

The new attraction will be sold by cruise lines as a shore excursion.

Cruise line representatives attending the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association Conference and Trade Show in Cozumel next week will have the chance to take a short flight to preview the park as part of the event's official post-conference tours. FCCA Platinum Member Costa Maya is arranging the visits.
