Crystal Symphony to sprout outdoor fitness garden in $20m refurb

Crystal Symphony to sprout outdoor fitness garden in $20m refurb
Crystal Symphony will gain new Technogym equipment in a redesigned fitness center and an outdoor fitness garden with circuit training during a $20m-plus drydock this autumn.

Commencing Sept. 9, the 19-day docking will also create a more open layout for the Crystal Plaza and Cove Bar on Deck 5 and refreshed décor in the Crystal Spa & Salon and Bistro Café.

The new indoor fitness upgrades include adding Technogym's premier cardio line, ARTIS, expanding the strength training line of Technogym’s Kinesis equipment and an intuitive, tablet-like Unity interface programming system enabling users to connect to music, data, workout-tracking or television.

The open Decks 7, 8 and 12 aft will be redesigned into a multi-level, outdoor 'garden' of fitness, using more than a dozen glass-blasted, stainless steel pieces of equipment from Denmark's Norwell Outdoor Fitness. Beginner, intermediate and advanced-level exercisers can familiarize themselves with the high-tech amenities via a 25-minute, self-guided 'Movement Journey,' a curated circuit training regimen complete with warm-up and cool-down phases.

The ship’s 360-degree promenade on Deck 7 will continue to offer several open-air fitness options, including exclusive Walk on Water and Nordic Walking programs.
