Crystal's Composto moves to Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection

Angela Composto - takes on sales and marketing in VP role
Angela Composto is joining the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection as VP sales and marketing, Seatrade Cruise News has confirmed.

'We could not be happier about it,' co-managing director Doug Prothero said.

Crystal Cruises is recruiting for a VP marketing to fill the role Composto formerly held.

She had been with Crystal since June 2016, and was responsible for marketing all Crystal products, including creative services, researching and developing advertising and overseeing public relations.

'We want to thank Angela for her incredible contributions to the Crystal brand over the last 19 months. She has been an amazing brand ambassador. She brought a level of passion and dedication that has taken our brand’s marketing initiatives to a whole new level of luxury. She will be missed by all and I wish her the very best in this new chapter of her professional career,' said Carmen Roig, SVP marketing and sales.

Composto helped drive the brand into the social media and digital marketing age. She formed a new creative team that produced selling guides and comparison guides for all products, along with numerous videos. (As Composto told top-producing agents during Crystal's annual sales gala, research showed 79% of new customers cited video in their purchase decision.)

Television advertising on national networks continued but under Composto Crystal also hyper-targeted prospects via cable boxes and Apple TV. The website was being redesigned, too.

Previously Composto spent 2.5 years as VP marketing, the Americas, at Silversea Cruises. There, she redeveloped the corporate website and launched a visual rebranding campaign.

Before Silversea, Composto was senior marketing communications director for Ryder System. Earlier jobs were with JM Family Enterprises, Costa Cruise Lines and Renaissance Cruises.
