China State Shipbuilding Corp (CSSC) and China National Travel Service Group Corporation (CTS) have agreed on a strategic collaboration aimed at raising the bar for China’s cruise projects.

The cooperation is expected to tap on each of the party’s strengths, with CSSC specialising in the heavy industry and shipbuilding area and CTS focusing on the sales and marketing field.

The strategic cooperation will touch on various aspects including design and construction of cruise ships, manufacturing and sourcing of equipment, and promotion and sales of cruise tours.

State-owned CSSC is currently sitting on a bumper order to build 2+4 133,500gt cruise ships for Carnival Corp, with help from Italy’s Fincantieri.
