'One of our first activities as a Cruise Baltic member is to attend the Seatrade Convention in Hamburg. Meeting the cruise lines at an exhibition is very important in order for the development and growth of our destination,' said cruise business manager Gry Klok Thomsen.
Being part of Cruise Baltic will provide the opportunity to share knowledge with the other destinations, Thomsen said, adding: 'We are looking forward to contributing to the network with our own experiences from our recent work in establishing Fredericia as an attractive cruise destination.'
Located in the center of Denmark, close to the international deep-water route of the Great Belt, Fredericia’s cruise port offers a 350-meter pier with 12-meter depth and is within walking distance of the city center. World-class attractions are within one hour’s drive, including the original Legoland and Odense, Hans Christian Andersen’s birthplace.
Cruise Baltic noted that though Fredericia is a new cruise destination, it has received excellent ratings since the 2014 opening season and throughout 2015, confirming its wide-ranging appeal.
'We are proud to welcome such an attractive destination into our portfolio and I am confident Fredercia’s investment in joining our progressive network will prove a mutually beneficial exercise for all concerned,' Cruise Baltic director Claus Bødker said.
