Sydney-based cruise specialist Diane Patrick of Wiltrans International has produced a dedicated Australian brochure with Australian dollars for British heritage tour operator Albion Journeys.
Patrick, who has been made Australia and New Zealand representative for Albion Journeys, said its exclusive escorted tours of Great Britain and Ireland go ‘hand in glove’ with luxury cruise ship passengers who are interested in art and architecture, gardens and culture.
‘It is a long way for Australians and New Zealanders to go for a European cruise, so many stay longer for pre- and-post cruise holidays,’ she said.
‘Some make two or three back-to-back cruises before or after exploring the best that Britain and Ireland have to offer.’
Patrick said luxury cruise ship passengers are a ready-made market for privileged access to the stately homes, palaces and castles visited by Albion which works closely with the National Trust of England, Wales and Northern Ireland and the Historic Houses Association.
She said 2019 itineraries will salute Shakespeare, Bronte, Jane Austen, Sir Winston Churchill and the 200th anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria.
Patrick recently hosted lunch for top travel agents in Auckland, telling them Albion Journeys are tailor-made for their upmarket cruise passengers. She will host an event for Sydney travel agents shortly.
‘A cruise is often a component for the much longer trips to Europe made by Australasians,’ she said.
