'In the coming year, we will be focused on becoming even more efficient and nimble as an association, building on our strong relationships with destination ports and our FCCA members, and representing the industry in a manner that keeps the organization effective and relevant,' Daya said.
For his part, Murphy said he was honored to pass the torch to Daya. Serving as chairman the past two years afforded numerous opportunities to collaborate with cruise tourism stakeholders and destination partners, he added.
'Russell's input shows he can effectively lead the committee, and I look forward to continue working with him and the committee to fulfill our goals,' Murphy said.
Daya joined Disney Cruise Line in 1998 as the manager of marine operations. From 2002 to 2003, he served as staff captain on board Disney Magic and Disney Wonder and recently spent five years in Disney Cruise Line's UK office as part of the executive team.
