Duty-free shop opens near wharf in Pago Pago

South Pacific Duty Free is setting up shop at the marketplace in Pago Pago for the arrival of cruise ships from this month.

The new duty-free shop will be welcomed by passengers and crew with limited time in port.

It will sell luxury products, like Coach and Michael Kors handbags, alcohol and cigarettes, as well as local Samoan handicrafts.

As previously reported, American Samoa Visitors Bureau executive director David Vaeafe projects Pago Pago will have 20 cruise ship visits in 2014 compared to 16 in 2013.
