After 11 years, Ellacott is taking on a new challenge in a senior management position at Rentalcars.com based near his home in Cheshire, UK. Â
Ellacott has held a number of roles in the business. His career started as director of engineering for First Choice and then Thomson Airways, following the merger of TUI Tourism and First Choice Holidays in 2007. More recently as md of Thomson Cruises, Ellacott successfully developed the brand strategy and grew the profitability of this area of the business. In his current role, he is responsible for distribution and sales in the UK and has been instrumental in developing a customer centric and multi-channel approach to distribution. Â
Caron will become drector for distribution and cruise and her remit will be to enhance TUI's distribution network and deliver strong growth in cruise, and core UK&I products. Caron has a strong distribution background having taken responsibility for integrating the distribution channels when Thomson and First Choice merged in 2007 and more recently as director of the Irish business. Â
Helen will be supported by the existing team and Chris Jones, who joins the business from Carphone Warehouse as Director of Customer Operations.
Nick Longman, managing director of TUI UK and Ireland thanked Ellacott for his passion and energy these past 11 years in driving significant change and in welcomeing Caron's appointment said, 'Helen has strong experience in distribution from previous roles within TUI UK and Ireland and more recently has driven significant innovation and growth for our cruise business. Her focus will be to further strengthen our distribution channels to maximise value for cruise and the wider holiday business.'
