Emerald Waterways shaves $1,500 from singles' fare
Emerald Waterways is offering savings of $1,500 for singles booking the 'Splendours of Europe' voyage. This 15-day itinerary covers the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers from Amsterdam to Budapest.

Solo travelers can save $1,500 when they book a single cabin, or take $1,500 off the single supplement for a cabin in any other category when booked by May 30. Travelers who book a sailing by May 9 with a departure date in June, July or August can save an additional $1,500 for a total discount of $3,000.

The 'Splendours of Europe' cruise enables visits to some of Europe’s great cities, including Budapest, Vienna and Amsterdam, as well as lesser-known rural regions along the Danube in Germany. The journey begins in Amsterdam where travelers get a walking tour of the city center and a canal trip. Germany’s Rhine Valley provides plenty of photo opportunities in the small towns and villages along the river.

Guided tours of Cologne, Germany’s oldest city, Bamberg and Nuremberg reveal the culture and histories of these important towns. Little touches, like an authentic oompah band playing on board one evening, give a flavor of Bavarian life. In Vienna, a tour hits the highlights with visits to the world-famous Opera House, Town Hall and Hofburg Imperial Palace.

Budapest, the sailing’s final destination, offers the chance to visit the Royal Palace of Buda and the iconic Chain Bridge that links the cities of Buda and Pest.

Emerald’s Star-Ships carry 182 passenger in 72 suites and 20 staterooms, including two built for solo occupancy, a rarity on river vessels.
