Author Ernie Beyl will read from his latest book on Dec. 8 in San Francisco
Writer and former cruise line public relations professional Ernest ('Ernie') Beyl has published his second book about San Francisco.

'San Francisco Appetites and Afterthoughts: In Search of the Good Life by the Golden Gate' (Grizzly Peak Press, 2016) has Beyl searching for the good life in his hometown, and finding it.

Readers will discover the author's many San Francisco appetites and afterthoughts for music (jazz, blues, boogie woogie, rock 'n' roll), restaurants, saloons, bartenders, cooking and cookbooks, prose, poetry, photography and photographers, old buildings, old girlfriends and the quirky, bohemian culture of the city. The book is available on Amazon.com and at other book outlets.

In a reading sponsored by San Francisco's legendary City Lights Bookstore, Beyl will appear at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at Barbary Coast Restaurant on Green Street.

The book follows 2015's 'Sketches from a North Beach Journal' (Grizzly Peak Press).

Beyl had a long and illustrious career in public relations, culminating with work for several cruise lines. Most recently he was a public relations consultant to Larry Pimentel, president and ceo, Azamara Club Cruises, and before that, to SeaDream Yacht Club. He had helped Pimentel launch SeaDream in 2001 and earlier worked with him at Seabourn.
