Hapag Lloyd’s Europa and Seabourn’s Seabourn Quest made inaugural calls to Cowes, Isle of Wight this month.

Cowes Harbour Commission held a traditional plaque exchange onboard Seabourn Quest to welcome the ship, Capt. Joost Eldering, passengers and crew.

Shore experience

Passengers disembarked at Trinity Landing, next to Cowes Castle with shore experiences at several of the local attractions, including yacht racing and rigging, walking tour of Cowes, a RIB (Rubber Inflatable Boat) ride to The Needles, bicycle tour of Victorian history in Cowes and East Cowes, a lecture tour at Osborne House, visit to Ventnor Botanic Gardens, Carisbrooke Castle, golf at Freshwater, tour of Mottistone Gardens, and chauffeur-driven vintage cars tour, among others.

Maiden call

The port also welcomed the maiden call of Hanseatic nature in May.
