A Utah man faces homicide charges after a domestic dispute aboard a Princess Cruises ship in Alaska.

Kristy Manzaneres, 39, was found in her cabin with a 'severe head wound,' according to the FBI criminal complaint. Her husband Kenneth Manzaneres, 39, has been charged with murder.

In a statement, the FBI said that prior to security officers arriving to the cabin, a witness observed Manzanares grab his wife's body and drag her toward the balcony. The witness then grabbed the ankles of the woman's body and pulled her back into the cabin. Soon after, Emerald Princess security entered the cabin and restrained and secured Manzanares.

The incident occurred aboard Emerald Princess at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Emerald Princess diverted to Juneau with everyone required to remain on board for most of Wednesday while law enforcement officials investigated. Since the incident happened in US territorial waters between Ketchikan and Juneau and, given the criminal nature of the charges, the US Coast Guard handed over the investigation to the FBI.

FBI special agent Marlin Ritzman said 15 agents interviewed approximately 200 passengers and crew.

Emerald Princess is on a seven-day round-trip cruise from Seattle that departed Sunday and is carrying approximately 3,400 passengers, according to a Princess Cruises spokeswoman.

The scheduled scenic cruising of Tracy Arm on Wednesday was canceled as the ship sailed directly to Juneau where it remained until 11:15 p.m. Emerald Princess then departed for Skagway, continuing on its scheduled itinerary.

Princess said each passenger received a $150 on-board credit in light of the impact on their vacations.
