Former Australian prime minister a Seabourn guest speaker

Julia Gillard was Australia's first female prime minister
Former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard is in the lineup of distinguished speakers for Seabourn Conversations 2017, the company’s on-board enrichment programme.

They include award-winning lyricist Tim Rice, creator of hit musicals including 'Evita' and 'The Lion King,' and Darren McGrady, a former personal chef to Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana and the Princes William and Harry.

Gillard will be on board Seabourn Encore when the 604-passenger boutique ship sails from Singapore on November 10, 2017, en route Down Under for her second summer of Australian cruising.

Gillard, the 27th prime minister of Australia, was sworn in on June 24, 2010, and served in that office until June 2013.

Seabourn president Richard Meadows said the company is delighted to be able to continue to attract the most engaging personalities to amuse and inform its guests.

‘The series continues to be highly successful as prominent speakers captivate onboard audiences with their personal experiences and hard-earned global perspectives on issues of the day,’ Meadows said.
