Until May, Aronson was Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.'s longest serving outside director, having been a board member since 1993. He did not stand for re-election, citing the time commitments of his new responsibilities as US special envoy to the Colombian peace process.
Lindblad Expeditions chairman Mark Ein said Aronson brings an 'unparalleled mix of board experience with some of the biggest success stories in the marine and broader hospitality industries as well as political relationships and experience in geographies that are important for us.'
Aronson also serves or has served during the past five years as a director of Kate Spade, Hyatt Hotels Corp., Chroma Oil and Gas, Sequitur Energy, ACON Franchise Holdings, Mariner Energy and Northern Tier Energy.
He sits on several nonprofit boards including The Nature Conservancy Maryland/DC chapter, The Amazon Conservation Team and the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
