HAL's Oosterdam begins Tampa service with new Friday sailings
Port Tampa Bay officials welcomed Holland America Line's Oosterdam for seasonal service on a variety of cruises, including seven-, 14- and 21-day voyages to the western and southern Caribbean.

Holland America, the port’s most venerable cruise line operator, initiated sailings from Tampa in 1982, and has been a staple in the market ever since. This year, the line will offer Friday departures for the first time.

The 82,000gt Oosterdam replaces the smaller Ryndam, which had homeported in Tampa for several years.

'For nearly 35 years, we have enjoyed a stellar relationship with Holland America Line, and it is gratifying to us that our cruise partners continue to show faith and enthusiasm in the strength our market. We look forward to many more years of sailings,' said Paul Anderson, port president and ceo.
