Miami Cruise Month promotes wave deals, pre-/post-cruise stays

Coinciding with wave season, the third annual Miami Cruise Month provides savings on bookings made in January and exclusive offers for pre- and post-cruise stays.

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau teamed with cruise lines for the event, sponsored by Citibank.

MiamiCruiseMonth.com provides residents and visitors with resources for planning and booking.

Special discounts from participating lines operating at PortMiami are available. They include Carnival Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Royal Caribbean International.

For example, Royal Caribbean is offering 50% off the fare of the second passenger in a stateroom and from $50 to $300 in on-board spending, depending on category booked. Deposits are reduced 50% and third and fourth travelers in a room get 25% savings.

'While the cruise industry is booming and guests are eager to board the world’s most renowned ships, Miami and The Beaches are also experiencing record tourism numbers as visitors are looking to stay for pre- and post-cruise visits,' according to Bill Talbert, president and ceo of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.

'In addition to our beautiful beaches, the destination brings a vibrant culinary scene, exclusive hotels and varied artistic and cultural attractions for all to enjoy,' Talbert added.
