Port of Roenne in Bornholm named ‘Europe's second-best holiday island’ in the Condé Nast Readers Choice Awards 2019
More cruise guests are visiting the Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea with Port of Roenne welcoming 46 cruise ships and 19,725 passengers in 2019.

This represents a 6.8% increase in passengers compared to 2018.

‘The 2019 cruise season will close with a similar level of ship activity as last year. We are really pleased with that - considering this year we welcomed vessels when our port expansion works were not yet finished,’ says Thomas Bendtsen, ceo of Port of Roenne.

350mtr long cruise ships welcome

Port of Roenne’s expansion plans were completed on June 8, while the formal handover took place on October 4, providing larger quays, better maneuvering space and water depth of 11mtr. It can receive cruise ships up to 350mtr.

‘Currently, the number of advance bookings for 2020 is 52 calls and approx. 45,000 cruise guests’ says Bendtsen.
