MSC Fantasia will stop long enough in Naples for widespread exploring on full-day tours
Next summer, MSC Fantasia will spend a full day at Naples in southern Italy, giving time for such activities as sampling the seafood, pizza and, arguably, the best coffee in Italy, touring Pompeii, visiting the island of Capri, exploring Sorrento or taking in the Amalfi Coast and Ravello.

A full day each week all season

'We have enriched the itinerary for MSC Fantasia for next summer in response to the growing popularity of southern Italy. This is the first time we have planned for a ship to be in Naples for a full day each week for the whole season,' said Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises.

'By arriving in the morning, we will give our guests plenty of time to go on full-day excursions and immerse themselves in the vibrant culture and beauty of this historic region. This will certainly be one of the highlights of this itinerary and we expect to see strong demand for this itinerary,' he added.

'Delicious Naples'

Travelers can explore independently or book a tour like 'Delicious Naples: Coffee, Pastry and Pizza,' stopping at a local haunt to have a cup of authentic Neapolitan coffee, then going for pizza, served neatly folded and eaten standing up in classic Neapolitan style, and culminating with a taste of sfogliatella, a traditional shell-shaped Neapolitan pastry.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Another MSC Cruises excursion combines Capri, Sorrento and Pompeii. Yet another full-day excursion goes to the seaside town of Amalfi and the nearby village of Ravello, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

MSC Fantasia also calls at two other Italian ports, Livorno, a gateway to Florence and Pisa, and Genoa, rich in maritime heritage. Further stops on the itinerary are Marseille in the south of France and the laid-back Balearic islands of Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza.
