The Nov. 8 cruise includes Le Havre, Southampton, Lisbon, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the Brazilian ports of Recife, Salvador de Bahia and Rio de Janeiro.
The ship will be in Tenerife coinciding with the first Tenerife Marathon on Nov. 16. Applications to participate are due by Oct. 25.
Three options are available at varying levels of difficulty. An eight-kilometer course offers an urban route and an opportunity to see the city on the move, with the starting point of the race a stone’s throw from the ship. The half marathon is a 21-kilometer course around Santa Cruz de Tenerife and along the coastal road overlooking the ocean. The full 42-kilometer marathon route starts in the harbor and cuts through the city center before heading toward the coastal road.
For non-runners, MSC Cruises plans a full excursion program that day.
On board during the crossing, an enrichment program will include lectures about the destinations and related themes such as great navigators in history, plus various arts and crafts workshops, games and tai chi and dance classes. MSC Magnifica's menus will reflect the ports of call.
