MyExcursions works almost exclusively with agents to arrange programs around the globe. Each booking is handled individually, according to Tim Harwood, a nearly 30-year veteran of the cruise industry.
After spending a decade at sea as a tour manager on global itineraries, Harwood ran shore programs for Silversea Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises for another 10 years before venturing out to start MyExcursions with his wife Dinora, vp/ceo.
Harwood said MyExcursions does not openly compete on price with cruise lines or other excursion providing companies; there is no online point and click to purchase. Instead, each agent receives an individual reply to their request for their clients.
MyExcurisons can customize even the terms of bookings for agents based on their needs or requirements and pays flexible commission rates, he said.
The business has grown largely by agent and client referrals.
