OceanMedallion cruising gets simpler with all-in-one app

Until now, passengers needed to download a bundle of individual apps to get the full OceanMedallion experience on Princess Cruises.

OceanReady to check-in pre-cruise. OceanNow for ordering food and drinks on board. OceanCompass for wayfinding and locating/communicating with family and friends. OceanView for travel programming. PlayOcean for interactive games. OceanCasino for wager gaming.

Introducing the MedallionClass app

All those functions are now rolled into a single app.

The free MedallionClass app is available for downloading to smart devices from the Apple App Store and will be on GooglePlay early next week. It is smaller than 300MB.

Via that one app passengers can become 'OceanReady' before their cruise and breeze through embarkation, then use all of the other functions aboard ship.

OceanNow experience on stateroom TV

In addition, the OceanNow experience is available on stateroom television. Passengers can order food and drinks, retail items like sunscreen, and more. They don't have to wait for stateroom delivery, but could head out around the ship and their items will be delivered to them wherever they are, thanks to the tracking technology inside their wearable OceanMedallion.

And should travelers wish to leave their phones/tablets at home or in their rooom on board, the MedallionClass experiences can be accessed using hundreds of portals around the ship.

Coming soon, Princess will offer OceanNow on mini tabletop portals so passengers can access the experience in lounges, bars and other key public areas to place their orders. Again, these items will find them anywhere on board, thanks to their OceanMedallion.

MedallionNet Wi-Fi heading to more ships

In other Princess news, speedy MedallionNet Wi-Fi will be expanding to more ships. The new Sky Princess will debut with it in October, and an additional six ships are scheduled to launch MedallionNet in 2020.

MedallionNet currently is available on Caribbean Princess, Regal Princess, Royal Princess, Ruby Princess, Coral Princess, Island Princess, Crown Princess and Emerald Princess.
