October is busiest cruise month for PEI's Charlottetown

October is busiest cruise month for PEI's Charlottetown
October is set to be the busiest month at Prince Edward Island's Charlottetown, despite the loss of two calls by Holland America Line's Veendam (and one in September) due to a technical issue.

Nineteen calls are expected in October.

And this year the season stretches into November with two visits by Royal Caribbean International's Legend of the Seas, on Nov. 1 and 6.

After a strong summer for cruising, 'it is encouraging to see the ships filling up the fall months for local businesses,' said Stan MacPherson, chair of the Charlottetown Harbour Authority. 'While the traditional tourism season is winding down, cruise passengers continue to fill the downtown core and create a buzz around the city.'

The ship schedule is here.
