Azamara President and CEO Larry Pimentel highlighted new destinations such as Guayaquil, Ecuador, with an overland expedition to the Galápagos Islands
Continuing its destination immersion focus, Azamara Club Cruises will offer more than 140 overnight stays in ports during its 2021 and winter/spring 2022 itineraries.

Istanbul overnights

Other highlights include 10 maiden calls and, in the Eastern Mediterranean, expanded itineraries to the Black Sea and Turkey, including overnights in Istanbul and a chance to explore hidden gems like Antalya and Sinop.

Azamara will spend three overnights in Istanbul and provide an action-packed 1.5-day tour. Highlights include the ancient Hippodrome, St. Sophia Museum and Topkapi Palace.

Back to Japan

'With our commitment to connect people with culture, our guests can uncover world wonders, including new destinations such as Guayaquil, Ecuador, with an overland expedition to the Galápagos Islands. We will also return to Japan, one of our most popular country-intensive itineraries, which visits marquee ports like Tokyo and Kobe, as well as the remote treasures of Kitakyushu and Kanazawa,' Azamara President and CEO Larry Pimentel said.

Besides Guayaquil, maiden calls are planned at Manta, Ecuador; Amami, Japan; Arica, Chile; Brest, France: Fraser Island, Australia; Milos and Pylos, Greece; Tema (for Accra), Ghana; and Warrenpoint, Northern Ireland.

In 2021, Azamara will have more than doubled its overnights in France and Spain since 2015.

Gastronomy and wine experiences

Examples of excursions include 'Andalusian Gastronomy Experience' in Seville, where participants can learn to make local dishes at the Andalusian Cooking Workshop, located near the Mercado de Triano, a historical food market.

At Nantes, a returning port, a Loire Valley tour will visit the privately owned Chateau de Goulaine, home to the Goulaine family for more than 1,000 years. A local wine tasting is included before the drive to Clisson, known for its medieval Italian atmosphere and the Castle of Clisson.

South America circumnavigation

Azamara also will offer new voyages where travelers can book back-to-back sailings and receive on-board credit for each leg of their voyage plus free Wi-Fi. One example of a new 'Grand Voyage' includes a 69-night circumnavigation of South America, round-trip Miami. Starting in January 2022, this voyage will cover 32 countries including Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Uruguay and Colombia, with a sailing through the Antarctic Sound.
