Port of New Orleans' third cruise terminal due in late 2017

The Port of New Orleans, which surpassed 1m cruisers for the first time in 2014, expects to complete its third cruise terminal in late 2017.

The Poland Avenue terminal will free berthing space for additional homeporting cruise ships and allow the port to aggressively market New Orleans for transit calls as well, said Gary LaGrange, port president and ceo.

LaGrange made his remarks Tuesday during the 29th annual State of the Port address.
