Princess ups its West Coast deployment in 2020/21

San Francisco's new hometown ship will be Ruby Princess
Princess Cruises is following up its record 2019 deployment on the US West Coast with even more capacity in 2020/21, for sailings to Mexico, Hawaii and along the coast.

What's new

Highlights include a new hometown cruise ship for San Francisco. Ruby Princess will sail round-trip to Hawaii, Mexico and along the California coast. New 16-day Hawaiian Islands cruises will operate round-trip from Seattle aboard Emerald Princess and Ruby Princess. And Regal Princess makes its West Coast debut with a seven-day 'Pacific Wine Country' cruise visiting San Francisco, San Diego and Astoria, Oregon.

'Departures from the West Coast to iconic destinations such as Hawaii, Mexico and California continue to gain in popularity with cruisers,' Princess President Jan Swartz said.

Sailings from September 2020 through May 2021

Royal Princess, which debuted on the West Coast this year, returns to the Port of Los Angeles for 25 cruises to the Mexican Riviera, including seven-day options to ports including Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta. Five-day cruises to Cabo San Lucas are also available featuring an overnight stay.

From San Francisco, Ruby Princess will offer three 10-day cruises to the Mexican Riviera with calls at Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta. In addition, Emerald Princess and Star Princess will sail five 10-day 'Baja Peninsula & Sea of Cortez' voyages, visiting Cabo San Lucas (overnight), La Paz, Loreto and Puerto Vallarta, round-trip Los Angeles.

Four homeports will offer round-trip cruises to Hawaii, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Vancouver. Destinations include Maui, Oahu, Kauai and Hilo. New for this season are the pair of 16-day cruises from Seattle on Emerald Princess and Ruby Princess. Star Princess (round-trip Los Angeles), Ruby Princess (round-trip San Francisco) and Grand Princess (round-trip Vancouver) sail 15-day Hawaii cruises.

Emerald Princess and Star Princess also operate a 28-day Hawaii and Tahiti cruise round-trip Los Angeles, featuring visits to Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora (overnight), Pago Pago and Samoa in addition to the Hawaiian Islands.

California coast

California coast sailings also leave from four homeports. Seven-day cruises from Los Angeles on Royal Princess and from San Francisco aboard Ruby Princess and Star Princess visit cities including Astoria, San Diego, Santa Barbara and Monterey. A Grand Princess 10-day option from Vancouver also stops at San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Various seven-day 'Pacific Wine Country' cruises sailing between Los Angeles and Vancouver the beautiful the wine regions along the coast. Shorter, one-to five-day cruises also focus on scenic beauty.

Food and wine excursions

Princess has enhanced shore excursions in collaboration with Bill Esparza, noted James Beard Award-winning cookbook author and leading expert on Latin American cuisine. Passengers sailing the California coast can sample local cuisine, specifically focused on the Latin American influence in California. Esparza has developed exclusive culinary shore excursions in Santa Barbara, San Diego and Ensenada.

In addition, Princess offers excursions to the California wine country, visiting local vineyards and winemakers throughout the region.

Captain’s Circle savings and early booking deposit

Past Princess customers are eligible for a special promotion when they book early with up to $100 per person off the public fare. This can be combined with launch and group promotions. These discounts do not apply to third or fourth berth guests. Additionally, a reduced deposit is available for Captain's Circle members when they book by Nov. 30, 2019.
