Registration opens for Cruise New Zealand 2014

A full programme and registration for Cruise New Zealand’s second annual conference to be held in Napier on August 8 is available on cruisenewzealand.org.nz/events/.

As previously reported the keynote speakers are Chris Allen, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.’s associate vp of global deployment and itinerary planning, and John Stoll, vp land programs for Crystal Cruises.

Delegates will be welcomed at the Museum Theatre Gallery by the mayor of Hawke’s Bay, Bill Dalton, and the chairman of Hawke’s Bay Tourism, George Hickton.

Garth Cowie, ceo of the Port of Napier, will explain how it has become the leading port for central New Zealand. International cruise ships booked to call at Napier this year include Oosterdam, Crystal Symphony, Caledonian Sky, Silver Discoverer, Radiance of the Seas, Voyager of the Seas and Europa.

The Art Deco Trust of Napier, which became known as the Art Deco City following its rebuilding after the 1931 earthquake, will host a cocktail party at the conclusion of the conference.

Delegates will then be transferred by local passenger transport company Nimon & Sons to Mission Estate, one of New Zealand’s largest and oldest wineries for a three-course dinner with local wines.
